    I used to write about Cape Town food content on Wednesdays in their print and online version.

  • i Magazine (Weekly Sunday supplement in City Press newspaper)
    I was responsible for the weekly drinks content, and themed food and wine pairings for iSavour pages. Themes ranged from wine varieties to gin, vodka, coffee and brandy. I’ve been tasked with finding liquid matches for unusual food themes including cheese to root vegetables, rice and potatoes. It’s how I discovered that Riesling is amazing with cured German charcuterie.

  • WINE magazine. I researched food themes and provide editorial direction to a fab reviewing team. We tackled South Africa’s best seafood, pizzas, steaks, Indian and Portuguese eating. See the results of an Indian curry exploration in The Curry Cup

  • Good Taste magazine. I profiled chefs including El Bulli chef Ferran Adrià. (See Ferran), written Wineland travel features and profiled SA’s young hot winemakers.

  • For Winestyle magazine I researched whether bushvines or trellised systems made a difference in the glass. I’ve explained why prestige cuvée MCCs are worth a try, and wondered whether SA has any icon or cult wines. I wrote this WineStyle piece about how top SA wines fare amongst some First Growths in White Club

  • Occasionally I write wine or food features for Singapore, UK and US wine trade or consumer publications. I’ve also compiled regular sections eg. food and drinks content for Indwe inflight magazine.

  • In WineLand trade magazine I tackled the bottomless coffers required to enter local wine competitions.
